CVE-2026-8100Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via encoded path traversal

Published Jun 18, 2026 · Updated Jun 18, 2026

Authentication bypass in Progress Chef 360 Platform before 1.7.1 allows remote authenticated users to access protected API endpoints. The API gateway's NGINX request processing checks authorization on a URL-encoded path before strict normalization, so encoded traversal resolves to a route with higher permissions. Exploitation requires an authenticated account and a deployment in which the affected encoded request pattern reaches a role-restricted endpoint.
