Kernel slab over-read during SMC-Rv2 link addition
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in Linux net/smc allows attackers to read beyond an SMC-Rv2 link-message queue allocation during link addition. smc_llc_save_add_link_rkeys treats bytes beyond a 72-byte queue entry as a version 2 extension and reads num_rkeys outside the allocation. The condition occurs on every SMC-Rv2 link addition when the device has max_recv_sge equal to 1; KASAN confirms a kernel slab over-read, but no further impact is published.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
