Out-of-bounds access via negative card index
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Out-of-bounds access in the ALSA mts64 driver in affected Linux releases allows attackers to disrupt kernel operation through sysfs binding. snd_mts64_probe accepts a negative platform-device ID such as -1 and uses it to index the driver's index and other per-card parameter arrays. Exploitation requires permission to bind the driver through sysfs; the published record does not specify whether the invalid access reads, writes, or crashes.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
