CVE-2026-80964Hinoki check available

Out-of-bounds parameter access via invalid card index

Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026

Out-of-bounds access in Linux ALSA virmidi before 6.12.109, 6.18.50, or 7.2.4 allows local users to access invalid parameters. The snd_virmidi_probe function uses devptr->id to index index[] and other parameter arrays without first validating the card-number range. Triggering the flaw requires manually binding a virmidi device through sysfs with an out-of-range identifier; module-created devices provide valid identifiers.
