Kernel stack disclosure via uninitialized I3C modalias
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Information disclosure in the Linux kernel I3C core allows local users to read kernel stack data through a generated modalias. The unregister path clears i3cdev->dev->desc before device_unregister finishes, so modalias generation can use an uninitialized i3c_device_info structure. Exposure requires an I3C device-unregister event and a concurrent modalias read; disclosed bytes are limited to residual kernel stack contents.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
