CVE-2026-80945

Decompression corruption via stale DMA bounce buffer

Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026

Data corruption in the IAA crypto driver in Linux 6.8 allows attackers to corrupt decompression output via unspecified vectors. The fallback writes req->dst with the CPU while it remains mapped DMA_FROM_DEVICE, and a later SWIOTLB unmap copies stale bounce-buffer data over the result. Reachability requires an IAA hardware analytics error during decompression with SWIOTLB active; the documented consequence is corrupted output.
