CVE-2026-80940

PCI resource retention via skipped probe cleanup

Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026

Resource leak in the Linux rtw88 PCI driver through 7.1-rc7 allows attackers to consume PCI resources via unspecified vectors. In rtw_pci_probe(), the NAPI-initialization failure path jumps to err_pci_declaim without calling rtw_pci_destroy(), so allocations from rtw_pci_setup_resource() remain live. Triggering requires an rtw88 PCI device and a failed NAPI setup; upstream reported no runtime testing and did not establish a repeatable security impact.
