Out-of-bounds read via truncated EEPROM firmware

An out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel 6.2 mt7996 Wi-Fi driver allows attackers to read beyond a truncated firmware buffer. The default EEPROM load path validates that firmware exists but parses and copies MT7996_EEPROM_SIZE bytes without first checking the buffer length. Reaching the flaw requires an MT7996 device and a short default EEPROM file; published material establishes the over-read but no crash or data disclosure.
