CVE-2026-80922

Distinguishable random output via zero-value filtering

Published Sep 9, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026

Cryptographic weakness in Linux qcom-rng from 6.7 through affected 7.2 releases allows attackers to distinguish its output from random data. The hardware-RNG read path in drivers/crypto/qcom-rng.c discards a zero-valued sample instead of returning it, removing a valid value and biasing the output distribution. Exposure requires a system using the Qualcomm RNG driver; the published record reports distinguishability rather than attacker-chosen output, code execution, or service interruption.
