ASoC control read failure via wrong union member
Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026
Incorrect enum control access in the Linux kernel allows local users to make affected ASoC control reads fail with EINVAL. The lpass-wsa-macro get and put callbacks read five enumerated controls through integer.value[0] rather than enumerated.item[0]. On 64-bit kernels with CONFIG_SND_CTL_DEBUG, the sanity check rejects each read; the published record reports no crash, data access, or privilege gain.
