CVE-2026-80908

DPB size calculation overflow via oversized UVD dimensions

Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026

Integer overflow in the Linux kernel amdgpu UVD decoder allows attackers to cause unspecified impact via crafted decode messages. The amdgpu_uvd_cs_msg_decode function previously accepted width or height above 4096 before calculating the decoded-picture-buffer size, allowing the arithmetic to overflow. The public record does not state the required privileges or a resulting consequence beyond the potential calculation overflow.
