A race condition in the Linux kernel IB/mlx5 driver allows local users to trigger unsafe implicit ODP memory-region re-registration. The rereg_mr path changes a parent memory key in place even though implicit ODP child keys require rebuilding the entire registration; without a translation request, it also fails to allocate a new memory region through mlx5_ib_reg_user_mr(). Exploitation requires mlx5 RDMA hardware, an implicit ODP registration, and local access to re-register it; the public record does not state a resulting crash, disclosure, or privilege gain.
