CVE-2026-80865Hinoki check available

Unspecified local impact via unchecked pointer-array access

Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026

Improper user-pointer validation in the Linux BPF subsystem allows local users to cause an unspecified impact through BPF link creation. The copy_user_syms function in kernel/trace/bpf_trace.c calls __get_user on the user-supplied symbol-pointer array without first validating the entire array with access_ok. The vulnerable path processes symbol names for multi-kprobe attachment; the Linux kernel CVE team has not published a concrete security consequence or required privilege level.
