CVE-2026-80864Hinoki check available

Local denial of service via RDMA responder race

Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026

Use-after-free in the Linux kernel's RDMA/rxe responder allows local users to cause denial of service through a queue-pair race. rxe_qp_from_attr() frees and reallocates qp->resp.resources[] without holding state_lock or draining rxe_receiver(), while leaving qp->resp.res dangling. An unprivileged local user must modify IB_QP_MAX_DEST_RD_ATOMIC while the responder task is active; the documented impact is limited to local denial of service.
