CVE-2026-80852Hinoki check available

Kernel memory corruption via unchecked TLS fragments

Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026

Out-of-bounds write in Linux kernel TLS device offload allows local users to corrupt kernel memory through crafted splice calls. The MSG_MORE early exit leaves a full record open, and tls_append_frag() increments num_frags beyond frags[MAX_SKB_FRAGS] before tls_push_record() indexes parallel scatterlists. Reachability requires TLS_TX_ZEROCOPY_RO and a NIC implementing TLS offload; triggering the flaw can crash the kernel or redirect a workqueue call through overwritten destruct_work data.
