CVE-2026-80851Hinoki check available

Kernel crash via concurrent PDP context deletion

Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026

A race condition in the Linux kernel GTP module allows local users to crash the kernel by concurrently deleting the same PDP context. The gtp_genl_del_pdp path holds only RCU while device teardown can delete that context, so the second deletion dereferences a poisoned hlist pprev pointer. Triggering the race requires administrative generic-netlink access and precise overlap between GTP_CMD_DELPDP and RTM_DELLINK; the demonstrated consequence is a kernel fault and service interruption.
