CVE-2026-80832Hinoki check available

Incorrect CCM tags via undersized AAD allocation

Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026

Buffer underallocation in the Linux QCE crypto driver allows attackers to produce incorrect CCM authentication tags through crafted AAD. The qce_aead_ccm_prepare_buf_assoclen function aligns the AAD length before adding header space, but programs DMA for the aligned combined length, permitting a hardware read past the allocation. The condition requires CCM processing on Qualcomm Crypto Engine hardware; the extra bytes enter CBC-MAC computation and yield an incorrect tag or a failed CCM self-test.
