Kernel heap over-read via short USB packet

Out-of-bounds read in Linux's USB serial option driver allows physically proximate attackers to trigger a one-byte kernel heap over-read. The interrupt callback treats a successful short URB as sufficiently long and reads data[8] without first verifying that actual_length covers the control request. Exploitation requires a connected USB device advertising an eight-byte interrupt endpoint; the public record establishes the invalid read but reports no crash, data disclosure, or code execution.
