Out-of-bounds read via wrapped RNDIS lengths
Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel rndis_host driver allows attackers to read beyond a USB receive buffer via crafted RNDIS data. The rndis_rx_fixup() path adds data_offset, data_len, and eight header bytes without first rejecting integer wraparound, so its bounds logic accepts a position outside the received buffer. Reachability requires the driver to process attacker-controlled data from an RNDIS USB device; published evidence establishes an out-of-bounds read but not code execution or disclosure outside the kernel.
