CVE-2026-80792Hinoki check available

Data disclosure and crash via stale IPv6 pointer

Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026

Use-after-free in Linux IPv6 output allows attackers to disclose kernel data, corrupt neighbor entries, misdirect traffic, or crash systems. ip6_finish_output2 caches daddr before lwtunnel_xmit, then reuses that stale pointer after an skb-head reallocation to compute a nexthop and access the neighbor table. Reachability requires an LWT-BPF transmit or other encapsulation path that reallocates the buffer and returns LWTUNNEL_XMIT_CONTINUE; the public record does not identify the attacker's required privileges or location.
