CVE-2026-80788Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Remote service interruption via oversized SGL allocation

Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026

Resource exhaustion in Linux kernel nvmet-tcp allows remote attackers to trigger a kernel warning through an oversized SGL. nvmet_tcp_map_data uses an initiator-controlled length to request scatterlist and iovec allocations exceeding one million entries, causing kmalloc to exceed MAX_PAGE_ORDER and invoke WARN_ON_ONCE_GFP. The attacker must reach a configured NVMe/TCP target; service interruption occurs when the host is configured to panic on kernel warnings.
