CVE-2026-80766Hinoki check available

Kernel use-after-free via rearmed HID teardown timer

Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026

Use-after-free in the Linux kernel HID uclogic driver allows attackers to dereference freed memory during device removal. uclogic_remove() deletes inrange_timer before stopping the transport, so an in-flight pen report can rearm the timer and make uclogic_inrange_timeout() access freed driver and input-device memory. Triggering requires a supported tablet to deliver a pen report during the narrow removal window; the published record documents no further consequence.
