CVE-2026-80728Hinoki check available

Kernel crash via teardown-order use-after-unmap

Published Sep 3, 2026 · Updated Sep 3, 2026

Use-after-unmap in affected Linux kernel AMDGPU drivers allows attackers to crash the kernel during device probe failure or rollback. The devres LIFO teardown unmaps the aperture before amdgpu_device_fini_sw runs, so an IP sw_fini callback writes through an aper_base_kaddr-derived pointer. The failure requires an AMDGPU probe failure or rollback that reaches such a cleanup callback; no remote trigger or broader impact is documented.
