Boot-time memory corruption via excess reserved-memory regions
Published Aug 28, 2026 · Updated Aug 28, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in Linux 6.12.13 through 6.12.102 and 6.13 allows attackers to corrupt memory during boot via a crafted device tree. fdt_scan_reserved_mem() appends each dynamic /reserved-memory subnode to dynamic_nodes without checking the MAX_RESERVED_REGIONS array bound. Reachability requires control of the boot-supplied device tree and more than 64 dynamically placed regions; no post-boot trigger or specific crash outcome is published.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
