System crash via absent mmiotrace array
Published Aug 28, 2026 · Updated Aug 28, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in Linux kernel mmiotrace allows local users to crash the system when logging uses an absent trace array. __trace_mmiotrace_rw() and __trace_mmiotrace_map() dereference tr->array_buffer.buffer without checking whether mmio_trace_array supplied a non-NULL array. Reaching the condition requires local mmiotrace access and a logging call before initialization or after the tracer is disabled.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
