Use-after-free via stale VXLAN Ethernet header
Published Aug 28, 2026 · Updated Aug 28, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux kernel VXLAN transmit path allows attackers to trigger stale-memory access through routed traffic. vxlan_xmit caches eth_hdr(skb) before route_shortcircuit(), whose pskb_may_pull() call can reallocate skb->head, then dereferences the freed eth pointer at eth->h_dest. Reachability requires VXLAN route-short-circuit processing; published material does not establish whether the stale access causes a crash or code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
