BA session corruption via short firmware response
Published Aug 28, 2026 · Updated Aug 28, 2026
An out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel wcn36xx Wi-Fi driver allows attackers controlling firmware responses to corrupt BA session state. The trigger-BA response handler accepts a 20-byte buffer as complete, then reads a 22-byte candidate at offset 20 when candidate_cnt is at least one. Reachability requires a short response from wcn36xx firmware; the stale heap read corrupts block-acknowledgment session state rather than disclosing kernel memory externally.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
