Kernel warning via duplicate MSI-X region unmap
Published Aug 28, 2026 · Updated Aug 28, 2026
Improper resource cleanup in affected Linux kernel versions allows local users to trigger a kernel warning during MSI-X setup. When msix_setup_interrupts() fails, automatic cleanup unmaps dev->msix_base and sets it to NULL; msix_capability_init() then calls iounmap() again on that NULL pointer. Reachability requires an MSI-X interrupt-allocation failure on affected hardware; the published reproduction established a warning but no stronger impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
