Local kernel memory corruption via oversized PMD mapping

Out-of-bounds write in Linux 7.0 through 7.1.9 allows local users to corrupt kernel memory or crash the system via a DRM GEM mapping. The drm_gem_shmem_huge_fault handler installs a PMD-sized mapping without ensuring that the aligned range remains inside the VMA. Standard local access to a DRM render or card device is sufficient; the oversized mapping can expose or overwrite adjacent memory and trigger a kernel panic.
