CVE-2026-8058Network attack vector

Password disclosure via resource dump audit logging

Published Jul 28, 2026 · Updated Jul 28, 2026

Password exposure in IBM OpenBMC FW1060.00 through FW1060.71 and FW1110.00 through FW1110.20 allows remote authenticated users to disclose passwords. The diagnostic resource dump path writes a user-supplied password into the BMC audit log instead of excluding the secret from logged request data. Access to BMC administrative functions is required, and the reported consequence is limited to disclosure of the supplied password to an audit-log-reading administrator.
