Kernel crash via premature vblank stream dereference
Published Aug 26, 2026 · Updated Aug 26, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in AMD display support in affected Linux kernels allows local users to crash the system through a vblank query. amdgpu_dm_crtc_set_vblank() reads acrtc_state->stream without first confirming that a display stream is attached when DRM_IOCTL_MODE_CRTC_GET_SEQUENCE enables or queries vblank. The trigger requires low-privileged local access to the AMD GPU DRM interface; the demonstrated consequence is a kernel crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
