CVE-2026-80526

Kernel memory disclosure via unchecked volume index

Published Aug 26, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026

Out-of-bounds array access in the Linux kernel TAS2562 ASoC codec driver allows local users to disclose kernel memory or crash the host. tas2562_volume_control_put() divides an unvalidated userspace volume value by two and uses the result to index the fixed-size float_vol_db_lookup array before writing the retrieved coefficient to the amplifier. Reachability requires write access to an ALSA control device on hardware using the TAS2562, TAS2564, or TAS2110 control and a kernel without input validation enabled.
