Validation bypass via space-only SQL trimming
Published Aug 30, 2026 · Updated Aug 30, 2026
Incorrect comparison in Ash Framework AshSql before 0.7.1 allows attackers to bypass trimmed uniqueness or equality checks. The SQL compiler's string_trim/1 fragment treats \s as a literal space, leaving tabs, newlines, carriage returns, and form feeds that Elixir String.trim/1 removes. Exploitation requires control of a string field used by an AshSql-backed filter, validation, or identity and permits near-duplicate data or inconsistent comparison results.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
