Authenticated code execution via unbounded EEPROM input
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Lantronix SLC, SLB, and EMG devices allows remote authenticated users to execute code through the CLI. The undocumented mfc eeprom read command copies unbounded user input into a bounded stack buffer before passing it to system(). Any terminal or CLI user can supply oversized input; successful exploitation grants code execution on the device and can affect serial-attached devices.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
