Local privilege escalation via unrestricted PCI IOCTLs
Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026
Privilege escalation in PassMark PerformanceTest, BurnInTest, and OSForensics allows local users to alter PCI hardware configuration. DirectIo64.sys IOCTLs 0x8011E0A4 and 0x8011E0A8 pass caller-controlled bus, device, function, offset, and value fields to unrestricted PCI configuration-space reads and writes. A caller must obtain the driver device handle; access can enable bus-master DMA, remap BARs, or halt storage-controller I/O, while enforced IOMMU isolation limits DMA-to-RAM impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
