Unauthenticated external redirects via login parameters
Published Sep 13, 2026 · Updated Sep 13, 2026
Open redirect in WPEverest User Registration & Membership before 5.2.8 allows remote attackers to send visitors to external sites. The post-login redirect flow accepts attacker-controlled destination parameters and uses them without validating that the target remains on the WordPress site. A visitor must follow a crafted login link and complete login; the resulting trusted-domain redirect can support phishing without direct data access or server compromise.
