Sandboxed code execution via Audio use-after-free
Published May 6, 2026 · Updated May 6, 2026
Use-after-free in Google Chrome Audio before 148.0.7778.96 on macOS allows remote attackers to execute sandboxed code via crafted HTML. Google identifies the Audio component but has not disclosed the freed object's lifetime error or triggering sequence because the issue remains restricted. A user must load attacker-controlled HTML; successful exploitation executes arbitrary code only inside Chrome's sandbox, with no published sandbox escape.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
