CVE-2026-79994Hinoki check available

Host socket access via symlink race

Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026

Path traversal in Docker Sandboxes 0.37.0 and later before 0.41.0 allows guest OS users to access arbitrary host Unix sockets. The guest-to-host Unix-domain socket relay validates a workspace-contained pathname, then reconnects through that mutable pathname after an intermediate directory is replaced with a symlink. Guest control of the shared workspace and winning the validation-to-connect race are required; the reached socket can disclose data or expose its host-side capabilities.
