Out-of-directory file access via unchecked listing paths
Published Oct 19, 2026 · Updated Oct 19, 2026
Path traversal in Apache Camel's FTP component allows remote attackers to access files outside the polled directory via crafted listings. FtpUtils.absoluteFilePath and GenericFileConsumer concatenate server-supplied names without normalization or containment checks, then use the paths for remote file operations. Malicious servers or man-in-the-middle attackers on plaintext FTP trigger reads using endpoint credentials; deletion and renaming require disposition options, and server account confinement bounds the impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
