CVE-2026-79943Network attack vector

Protection bypass via mismatched certificate acceptance

Published Sep 7, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026

Certificate hostname-validation failure in Dell SCG 5.0 allows remote attackers to bypass transport protections with a mismatched certificate. The affected certificate-validation path fails to reject a peer certificate when its identity does not match the requested host. Remote access and a high-complexity condition are required; affected Application versions are before 5.36.00.00 and Appliance versions are before 5.36.00.16, and exploitation permits limited disclosure and modification of protected data.
