Remote command execution via unsanitized NTP server
Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Command injection in TOTOLINK N600R 4.3.0cu.7647_B20210106 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through its web interface. The getCurrentTime handler in /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi inserts the ntp_server HTTP parameter into an NTP command without neutralizing shell metacharacters, then executes it with popen(). Unauthenticated LAN or WAN access to the management interface is sufficient, and command output returns in the HTTP response, enabling device control and direct data reads.
