CVE-2026-79900Network attack vector

Heap memory corruption via oversized KSL digest name

Published Oct 1, 2026 · Updated Oct 1, 2026

Heap buffer overflow in Fortra Core Privileged Access Manager (BoKS) allows remote authenticated users to corrupt server memory. The boks_ksllogsd service accepts a checksum name in a KSL start message, checks whether OpenSSL recognizes it, then copies it into a fixed 16-byte context field without checking its length. A valid KSL client session is required; the supplied evidence establishes an out-of-bounds write, not code execution or a confirmed service crash.
