Root command execution via CRL URL substitution
Published Oct 1, 2026 · Updated Oct 1, 2026
Command injection in Fortra BoKS Manager 8.1.0.0 through 8.1.0.23 allows remote authenticated users to execute root commands on the BoKS Master. The crlserver service processes shell command substitution embedded in a supplied CRL URL instead of treating the URL solely as data. The 9.0.0.0 through 9.0.0.6 line is also affected; exploitation requires authorization to add CRL URLs through BCC or WSI, or access to cacrl with a suitable local sudo or suexec rule.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
