File overwrite via TAR filename traversal
Published Oct 15, 2026 · Updated Oct 15, 2026
Path traversal in HPE NonStop Python 3.x allows attackers to overwrite arbitrary files through crafted TAR archive filenames. TAR archive handling accepts .. path components in member names, allowing writes outside the intended extraction directory; the retrieved CNA record does not name an affected function. The published assessment requires adjacent-network access and user interaction without authentication, but does not identify the extraction workflow.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
