Sandboxed code execution via WebAudio use-after-free
Published May 6, 2026 · Updated May 6, 2026
Use-after-free in WebAudio in Google Chrome before 148.0.7778.96 allows remote attackers to execute code in its sandbox via a crafted HTML page. Google has not disclosed the affected WebAudio object, the lifetime transition that frees it, or the later operation that dereferences the stale object. Exploitation requires user interaction to load the crafted page, and the documented code execution remains confined to the Chrome sandbox.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
