Arbitrary command execution via unquoted URL
Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
OS command injection in Zackees transcribe-anything 4.0 and 4.1.0 allows attackers to execute commands through a crafted media URL. The ytdlp_download function inserts the URL unquoted into an f-string passed to subprocess.run with shell=True, allowing shell metacharacters to escape the yt-dlp command. Exploitation requires an application or CLI invocation to forward an attacker-controlled URL; the product has no default network listener, and commands run with the transcribing process's privileges.
