Path traversal in rclone serve s3 before 1.74.4 allows remote attackers to read and overwrite files within the configured serve root. The S3 backend passes the bucket name and attacker-controlled object key to path.Join, which normalizes dot-dot segments and escapes the selected bucket namespace. The server permits anonymous requests when no authentication key is configured; traversal remains confined to the configured serve root and does not reach files outside it.
