TOTP bypass via interchangeable reauthentication credentials
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Authentication bypass in Termix 2.4.0 through 2.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to disable TOTP using only the account password. The TOTP route helper accepts a successful password comparison as complete reauthentication, and both critical endpoints treat a password or TOTP code as interchangeable. A valid session and the account password are required; successful requests disable the second factor or invalidate existing backup codes.
