SSH credential disclosure via hardcoded key derivation
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Cryptographic key weakness in Termix 1.7.0 through 2.5.0 allows local users to decrypt stored OIDC and WebAuthn SSH credentials. The deriveOIDCSystemKey() and deriveWebAuthnSystemKey() methods feed committed default secrets and public user IDs into PBKDF2, making each wrapping key reproducible. Access to an offline SQLite database copy is required; disclosure is limited to stored SSH passwords, private keys, and passphrases for OIDC or WebAuthn users.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
