SQL injection via unescaped FunctionsBuilder structural arguments
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
SQL injection in CakePHP FunctionsBuilder allows attackers to read or write database data through untrusted SQL-function arguments. The cast, extract, datePart, and dateAdd methods insert dataType, part, or unit values into generated SQL as unescaped structural fragments. Exploitation requires application code to pass untrusted input to those parameters, and database access is bounded by the connection's privileges.
